In 1996, I left the dreary winters of New York and the East Coast to settle in the beauty and warmth of Tucson, Arizona. My husband, John, and I now live in the Catalina, Arizona, home we designed and built in 2001. Our home is filled with artwork created by generations of Rockmore artists, including: my mother, Cynthia; my father, Julian; my cousin, Noel Rockmore; my aunt, Gladys Rockmore Davis; and my uncle, Floyd Davis. My family's works are now part of many prestigious collections and galleries world wide.

Although painting is my first love, my creative interests also include; fabric sculpture, designing clothing and accessories, and embellishing with beads, embroidery and lace. I'm also a busy jewelry designer, cutting and polishing my own stones then creating sterling silver pieces into which the stones are set. My notecard line, Fat Rabbit Cards, is always expanding as each new painting becomes another card.

I'm also a passionate gardener having designed and landscaped an acre of my desert property with roses, native plants, cacti and trees. Winding walkways and wonderful focal points at each turn truly create the sense of the land as yet another canvas for artistic expression.

My home studio is a whirlwind of activity where I often work on many different paintings and art projects in a single day, discovering new ways to use and express all that inspires me. Each day, in both my indoor and outdoor studios, unfolds with unbridled enthusiasm for exciting art projects and techniques which evolve as new ideas come to awareness. There are too many interests and discoveries to ever waste a minute!

I'm also currently writing a book, "Bergit's Playhouse", which encompasses the expansive array and variety of pieces I've created during my art career. It will include step-by-step instructions for many of my projects, plus secrets, tips and shortcuts garnered from my years of experience.
